1. Information We Collect
We only collect information about you if we have a reason to do so, for example, to provide our Services, to communicate with you, or to make our Services better.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve our services, to develop new ones, and to protect Volume Network and our users.
3. Sharing Information
We do not share your personal information with companies, organizations, or individuals outside of Volume Network except in the following cases: with your consent, for legal reasons, or with domain administrators.
4. Data Security
We work hard to protect Volume Network and our users from unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of information we hold.
5. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to access, correct, or delete your data.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We also use your browser's local storage, which works in a similar way. Some of what we store is essential for the website to work. The rest is for analytics, and we only use it if you accept analytics cookies.
Essential
These are needed for things you ask for, such as your shopping cart, so they don't need your consent.
| Name | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|
volumeLocal storage | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies. | When you clear your browser's storage |
themeLocal storage | Remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. | When you clear your browser's storage |
volumeLocal storage | Keeps the items in your shopping cart. | When you clear your browser's storage |
volumeSession storage | Only set if you open one of our preview links: shows you a version of the website we're preparing. | When you close the tab |
volumeLocal storage | Only set if you open our staff link: marks this browser as used by Volume staff. | When you clear your browser's storage |
Analytics (only if you accept)
We use Google Analytics and PostHog to understand how people use our website, so we can improve it. PostHog also lets us test changes, by showing some visitors a different version of a page and comparing the results.
| Name | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|
_gaCookie | Google Analytics: tells visitors apart using a random ID. | 2 years |
_gaCookie | Google Analytics: keeps track of your visit. | 2 years |
phCookies, local storage and session storage | PostHog: remembers a random ID, so the pages you view are counted as one visitor and you see the same version of a page we're testing. | 1 year |
volumeLocal storage | The random ID we give PostHog, so you see the same version of a page we're testing when you come back. | When you withdraw consent or clear your browser's storage |
If you haven't accepted analytics cookies, Google Analytics doesn't run and nothing is sent to Google. We still use PostHog to choose which version of a page to show you when we're testing a change, and to count page views, but nothing is stored on your device and you get a new random ID every time you load a page, so your visits aren't linked together.
If you withdraw your consent, we delete the analytics cookies and storage listed above from your browser.
Changing your choice
You can accept or reject analytics cookies at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page, or with this button.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser's settings.
Other websites
When you check out, you go to Stripe, our payment provider, which sets its own cookies: see Stripe's cookie policy. How Google and PostHog use data is described in how Google uses information from sites that use its services, Google's privacy policy and PostHog's privacy policy.
